Two stages of refurbishment for a Yeppoon favourite. Stage two joined three adjacent buildings into one venue, with a new bistro, commercial kitchen, amenities and entry, built while the hotel kept trading.
01The brief
Join the neighbouring buildings to the existing hotel, and keep the old kitchen running until the new one was certified and ready to open.
02What we built
Structural demolition, new footings and steel, partitions, floor finishes and tiling, electrical, communications, mechanical and plumbing services, a custom stainless steel commercial kitchen, and all fixtures and fittings. Finishes follow Star Hotels Group’s standards, with curved joinery screens, custom wine storage and integrated lighting through the bistro.
03How we did it
The project was run from Brisbane with a site manager in Yeppoon every day. The existing kitchen could not be decommissioned until the new commercial kitchen was fully certified, and the move happened without interrupting service.
04The result
More dining capacity, a better flow through the venue, and a bistro that has traded continuously since it opened.
