A cold shell tenancy turned into a Medicare funded community mental health clinic, built while the building owner replaced the roof overhead.
01The brief
Safe, calm spaces where people can get counselling and community support without the feel of a clinical setting.
02What we built
Reception and waiting, consulting rooms, a GP room, a group room and a community kitchenette, with staff workspaces, breakout and amenities behind. All new air conditioning, electrical, communications and plumbing infrastructure throughout.
03How we did it
About 12 cubic metres of reinforced concrete was poured to bring a room set down 150mm up to level with the rest of the floor. The building owner replaced the roof above the tenancy while we worked, so trades were rotated around the floor to keep clear of the roofers overhead.
04The result
Our second clinic for Communify, awarded because we had delivered the Lutwyche clinic a few months earlier.
